Play on Wheels – new programme funded!
We are delighted that Smart Play Network has been funded to develop the Play on Wheels project running in Fife, Dundee and now into Angus. We know that access to play makes a significant positive impact to children’s lives and we are looking forward to supporting communities’ development of children’s play opportunities.
Play on Wheels 2016-2019
Play on Wheels will comprise of a highly skilled team of 5 people working across Fife, Dundee and into Angus. We will travel with two vans filled with scrap play resources and with a rich knowledge of how to support families and practitioners to develop play resources at home and in community settings. Our programme will increase resilience, wellbeing and so improve relationships and lives. We will work closely with families and practitioners for around 8 to 12 weeks to create lasting change to their play resources, knowledge and capacity to improve play, parenting and family relationships. POW will focus on empowering people (communities, school settings and families) and target areas, groups and parents to upskill and increase their confidence to make positive changes around health, wellbeing and raising levels of attainment through play.
The new POW project is managed by Smart Play Network and funded by National Lottery, Big Lottery Improving Lives Fund.
