Are there checks in place to ensure your workers are qualified and safe to work with children?

Yes, our workers and volunteers will only be able to work at play sessions once references and enhanced disclosure checks have been returned giving us no reason to doubt their suitability to work with children.

At open sessions are you like a 'mobile creche' or 'playscheme' where parents can leave kids in your care?

We are not a childcare provider therefore are not responsible for the children. Parents must look upon POW as if they were allowing their children to play out or go to the park. Our service offers a level of supervision to the point that if a child was hurt or troubled we would take appropriate action but we are not registered to ‘look after’ children.

Will children have to pay for play sessions?

No, from 1st September 2016, our project is funded through the Big Lottery – Improving Lives grant.

How do we make an enquiry about booking a play session or workshop?
